Origin is available in AU, VST, and AAX formats (64-bit only). The only danger of enjoying Lo-Fi plugins as much as I do is the temptation to overuse them! So, don’t do that, and enjoy this cool freebie. It’s definitely a shortcut to that Drake/underwater sound if you need some of that. Overall, I think Origin is a pretty cool plugin, regardless of it being free. Today’s listener is very much accustomed to hearing carefully treated sound. Sometimes the best way to make something sound Lo-Fi in a cool way is to leave it unprocessed. So, I love that Cymatics included this feature. Panning stuff aimlessly or making a disproportionate mix will sound bad a lot more readily than it will sound brilliant. I’m a big fan of the Juno Chorus and the Juno 60 and 106 synths in general. Last but not least is Chorus, an effect based on the famous Juno 60 Chorus. The switch underneath determines whether the noise comes before or after the Resampler. The Movement affects the pitch by mimicking the inconsistencies of an old tape machine.Īt the top right is the Noise control that offers various Cassette, Reel to Reel, and Vinyl settings. Next up is Movement, with two modes, Random and Fixed Wow and Flutter. The ‘Undertale - Fallen Down (Lofi Remix)’ sound clip has been created on 2:18:21 AM. This audio clip has been played 300 times and has been liked 5 times. Each mode offers a slightly different flavor and is great for adding some subtle vintage saturation. In this category you will find more meme sound effects, sound clips and sound effects about pog, Champ, Chillin, lofi. Getting the right lo-fi texture on your sounds has never been easier and free. This woozy, nostalgic production flavor is super satisfying in lots of genres, especially Bollywood music is starting to get into this sound with artists like The Mixxnlight. The first of the other controls is the Saturation knob with two modes, Tube and Drive. Lo-fi ain’t going anywhere and here to stay. Next to the Pre/Post buttons is a high pass filter, set to 200Hz. Noah 40 Shebib is known to favor that underwater sound, and you can hear it in his work with Drake.
Pre and Post buttons under the main knob can filter out any artifacts, leaving you with that underwater kind of sound. You’ll notice that as you lower the frequency, increasing the effect, some artifacts are introduced that don’t always sound so good.
The large knob controls the Resampler/Bitcrusher frequency, which is the core of the effect. There are only five knobs, one large, central knob, and four smaller controls. It’s based on vintage hardware, and it looks like it. The first thing that stands out is that the GUI is super clean.
No matter how many Lo-Fi plugins I have, I can’t seem to pass one without wanting to check it out.
